Board/Committee

Friendship Development Associates is led by a board of directors made up of 15 neighborhood residents, who drive the initiatives of the organization. Several committees help staff members carry out the vision of the board.

FDA Committees

FDA Board

The FDA Board is responsible for the entire FDA organization as a whole. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and location varies. Annual board recruitment and selection begins in the fall. If interested in joining the board please contact Thresa Joyce, Interim Executive Director at thresa@friendship-pgh.org

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for organizational strategy, Board management Executive Director management, discussion of funding proposals, FDA Board selection and recruitment addressing organizational and legal issues. Meetings begin at 7 a.m.

Strategic Planning Committee

If you have information you wish to contribute to the strategic planning committee, please email fdastrategicplanning@friendship-pgh.org.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for financial planning, analysis of financial statements, operational fundraising, audit and reviewing project financing and organizational financial statements. Meetings begin at 4 p.m.

Real Estate Committee

The Real Estate Committee is responsible for development strategies and oversees their implementation. If interested in joining this committee, please contact Thresa Joyce, Interim Executive Director at thresa@friendship-pgh.org. Meetings begin at 6 p.m.

Design and Planning Committee

The Design and Planning Committee is responsible for topics regarding the Penn Avenue Plan, Penn Avenue Arts Initiative Artist Loan and Grant Fund/URA facades, public infrastructure, Neighborhood Community Plan, Penn Avenue design guidelines, public safety and zoning. If interested in joining this committee, please email pennarts@friendship-pgh.org. Meetings begin at 6 p.m.

Marketing, Communications & Fundraising Committee

The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Committee is responsible for developing a clear, consistent, marketing and communications strategy to ensure that the FDA is recognized and supported b its various constituents as a driving force for community stabilization, development and enrichment. If interested in joining this committee, please email Marketing Chairperson at marketing@friendship-pgh.org. This committee meets quarterly beginning in Februray with meetings beginning at 6 p.m. and the location varies.

House Tour Committee

The House Tour Committee is a sub-committee of the Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Committee. The House Tour Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of this annual event. If interested in joining this committee, please contact House Tour Chairperson at housetour@friendship-pgh.org. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. and the location varies.

Friendship Flower & Folk Festival Committee

The Friendship Folk and Flower Festival is a sub-committee of the Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Committee. The Friendship Folk and Flower Festival Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of this annual event. If interested in joining this committee, please contact Fundraising Chair of the FPG at f4@friendship-pgh.org.

Penn Avenue/Main Street Events Committee

The Penn Avenue/Main Street Events Committee is responsible for all events that occur on Penn Avenue including Unblurred. If interested in joining this committee, please contact Sarah DiLeo, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at pennarts@friendship-pgh.org. This committee meets as needed.
